In Guilds of London, you will place your liverymen in newly-forming Guilds, building your power base so they can achieve the status of Master. You will also have the opportunity to spread your power overseas to the lucrative Ulster or Virginia plantations. Control of each Guild will provide victory points and additional actions that you can exploit, so you can control the future development of the City. The player with the most points at the end of the game will become the Lord Mayor of London and take their place in the history of this fabulous City!

London: The biggest, and most important city in England in the late medieval period where the Guilds played a major role in the lives of London's citizens: controlling trade, manufacturing and the conduct of business in the City. The members - the Liverymen - of the Guilds were rich men, appointed to the most influential positions in the community and wielding immense Civic power. The chief representative of a Guild was its Master and the Lord Mayor of London represented the Guilds as a whole, chosen from amongst those Masters and taking up office at Mansion House. Each Guild had its own Hall and coat of arms also known as their Armorial Bearings. Representatives of the guilds met at the Guildhall to discuss the great issues of the day...and to bargain, scheme and negotiate!
